Fritz Scherz was re-elected to Councilman on the Verona Town Board on November 7, 2017. On January 1, 2018, he was sworn into office for the start of his third term as Councilman on the Verona Town Board.

Fritz Scherz was previously re-elected as Councilman on the Verona Town Board on November 5, 2013.  For his first term, he was officially sworn in on Monday, January 4, 2010.

On December 31, 2013, Councilman Fritz Scherz had his ceremonial swearing in led by his friend, New York State Senator Joe Griffo, as Fritz's wife Kathy looks on. Fritz's second term as Councilman on the Verona Town Board started January 1, 2014.
